This role ensures that all products and processes adhere to established quality standards, specifications, and procedures by supervising a team of inspectors and technicians and leading immediate problem-solving activities.Key Responsibilities and Duties.
I - Team Management and Floor Operations Daily Oversight: Supervise the activities of Quality Control Inspectors, Technicians, and other QC staff across shifts, assigning tasks and ensuring adequate coverage.Training & Mentoring: Train QC personnel on inspection techniques, measuring instruments, quality standards, and documentation procedures.Work Allocation: Manage the schedule and workflow for Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Quality Control (FQC) activities.Equipment Management: Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used correctly by the team.II. Inspection and Defect Management Standard Enforcement: Enforce strict adherence to product specifications, engineering drawings, and quality control plans (QCPs).Defect Handling: Oversee the inspection of materials and finished goods. Immediately isolate, tag, and report non-conforming products (NCPs) and ensure proper disposition.First-Level Analysis: Conduct initial investigation and documentation of defects, scrap, and rework to identify potential root causes on the production line.Documentation: Ensure all inspection records, reports, and quality checks are accurately completed, signed off, and filed according to the QMS.III. Improvement and Compliance Process Audits: Conduct regular internal audits on production processes and operator adherence to work instructions to proactively prevent quality issues.Feedback Loop: Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Engineers to communicate quality issues and implement quick, temporary corrective actions.Safety: Ensure the quality team adheres to all safety protocols and maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.Customer Interaction: Assist the Quality Manager during customer visits, audits, or when addressing specific customer complaints related to the immediate production area.
