Responsibilities:
Individual Counselling: Provide one-on-one counselling to students to understand their academic interests, strengths, weaknesses, career aspirations, and personal challenges.
Career Guidance: Offer guidance on various career options, educational programs, and vocational training opportunities available after completing their current level of education, considering the local job market and opportunities in Shahada and beyond.
Academic Planning: Assist students in developing academic plans, selecting appropriate courses, and setting realistic educational goals.
Parent/Guardian Counselling: Conduct counselling sessions with parents/guardians to involve them in the educational planning process and address their concerns.
Group Counselling and Workshops: Organize and conduct group counselling sessions, workshops, and seminars on topics such as study skills, career exploration, stress management, and personal development, tailored to the needs of students in Shahada.
Information Dissemination: Provide up-to-date information on various educational institutions, admission processes, eligibility criteria, and scholarship opportunities relevant to the local context and beyond.
Assessment and Evaluation: Administer and interpret aptitude tests, interest inventories, and other assessment tools to help students understand their potential and make informed choices.
Liaison and Referrals: Liaise with teachers, school administrators, and external resources (e.g., career centres, training institutes) to provide comprehensive support to students. Make referrals to specialized services when necessary.
Crisis Intervention: Provide initial support and intervention in situations involving student distress or crisis, following established protocols and referring to appropriate resources.
Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, assessments, and student progress.
