A Sales Executive is the primary driver of revenue for a business. Unlike an Office Executive (who manages internal operations), a Sales Executive is external-facing, focused on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals.In 2025, this role has shifted from aggressive selling to consultative selling€”helping the customer solve a problem rather than just pushing a product.📋 Core ResponsibilitiesA Sales Executive€™s journey follows the Sales Funnel: Lead Generation $rightarrow$ Prospecting $rightarrow$ Closing.1. Lead Generation & ProspectingMarket Research: Identifying potential clients (leads) within a specific industry or territory.Outreach: Cold calling, emailing, and using LinkedIn (Social Selling) to initiate contact with decision-makers.Networking: Attending trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build a pipeline.2. The Sales ProcessDiscovery Calls: Asking the right questions to understand the client€™s pain points and budget.Product Demonstrations: Presenting the product or service in a way that highlights its specific value to that client.Proposal Drafting: Creating customized quotes, contracts, and Value Propositions.3. Negotiation & ClosingHandling Objections: Addressing concerns regarding price, timing, or competition with data and persuasion.Closing: Finalizing the sale and ensuring the contract is signed.Account Handover: Coordinating with the Customer Success or Operations team to ensure the client is onboarded smoothly.4. Reporting & CRM ManagementPipeline Tracking: Keeping the CRM (like Salesforce or HubSpot) updated so management can forecast monthly/quarterly revenue.Market Feedback: Reporting back to the marketing team about what customers are saying and what competitors are doing.
