Location: Nashik, Maharashtra, India (This role can be primarily workshop-based, involve field visits to customer locations within Nashik and its surrounding areas, or be a hybrid of both.)
Job Summary:
We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Laptop Service Engineer to join our technical service team in Nashik. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of laptop brands and models, addressing both hardware and software issues. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
Receive and diagnose faults in various laptop brands (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, Apple MacBook, etc.).
Identify and troubleshoot a wide array of hardware issues including motherboard problems, RAM, HDD/SSD failures, display issues (screen damage, backlight, flickering), keyboard/touchpad malfunctions, battery issues, charging port defects, and overheating.
Diagnose and resolve software-related problems such as operating system errors (Windows, macOS), driver conflicts, virus/malware infections, software crashes, and performance slowdowns.
Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair, if required.
Repair and Replacement:
Execute hardware repairs, including component replacement (e.g., replacing motherboards, display assemblies, keyboards, hard drives, RAM modules).
Perform operating system installations, re-installations, and upgrades.
Install and configure necessary software applications and drivers.
Conduct data backup and recovery procedures for customers, ensuring data integrity.
Perform thorough virus and malware removal.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Rigorously test all repaired laptops to ensure full functionality, stability, and optimal performance before returning them to customers.
Conduct comprehensive quality checks on all repairs to meet established service standards.
Customer Interaction and Communication:
Communicate effectively and courteously with customers to understand their laptop issues, explain diagnoses, clarify repair solutions, and provide accurate cost estimates.
Provide technical advice and best practices for laptop maintenance and care to customers.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all service requests, repairs performed, parts used, and service status in the designated service management system or logbook.
Generate service reports, invoices, and necessary documentation for billing and record-keeping purposes.
Inventory and Parts Management:
Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts, ensuring the availability of common components for timely repairs.
Initiate requests for necessary parts for specific repairs.
Field Service (if applicable):
Conduct on-site service calls to customer homes or offices within Nashik for repairs, installations, or troubleshooting that cannot be resolved remotely or in-house.
Manage travel logistics and expenses for field visits.
Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with the latest laptop technologies, repair techniques, diagnostic tools, and software trends through self-study, online resources, and formal training.
